Mumbai: The NaMo app, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has not been downloaded as many times as the app that his predecessor, Manmohan Singh, released three years ago. Launched in May 2014, the PM's app is mostly used by people in three states -- Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand -- where the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed a government. Apart from Maharashtra, the app is mostly used in Uttar Pradesh, said a senior officer from the state unit. "There is a huge difference in popularity of the PM's app in the states where he has done well. It is the same with his Twitter following," he added. When the app was launched, there was a lot of controversy over an interface designed for the blind that was inconsistent and difficult to use, but now it has improved, according to Varun Kapoor. "We have added features such as Hindi and Marathi translations. We have also fixed some issues," he
